THUNDERPLEX 8, TONY'S PIZZA AND PUB/JERGLER INVESTMENTS 7

HERMITAGE -- A two-run top of the seventh vaulted Thunderplex (5-10) to an 8-7 victory win over homestanding Tony's Pizza and Pub Monday night at St. Paul.

Thunderplex trailed 7-6 entering the seventh but loaded the bases with no outs. Ken Wallace singled, Ed Rogers walked and Randy McConnell laced a bloop single. Wallace scored the game-tying run on a double play while Rogers came home on Drew Carpenter's go-ahead double.

In the bottom of the seventh, Harry Bowser worked a one-out walk and moved to second on Bob Summerville's single. However, winning hurler Lindsey Mizicko induced a pair of pop outs to end the game.

Tony's took a 3-0 lead in the second as Gary Jergler doubled in Cameron Vernon while Dave Tomko cracked a two-run single later in the inning. Thunderplex tied the game in the fourth, then surged ahead with three more runs in the fifth. Craig Schumacher's two-run single put Thunderplex ahead.

Cameron Vernon's three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth put Tony's back on top, 7-6. Chad McCombs had opened the inning with a double. Vernon scored twice for Tony's while Rogers and Carpenter both scored a pair of runs for Thunderplex. Bowser took the defeat for Tony's Pizza and Pub (7-4).
