NOTRE DAME 7, PIONEER HOME EQUITY 4

At Notre Dame, the hosts opened the 2004 season with a victory over defending league champion Pioneer Home Equity.

Dan Distler's two-run single in the fifth highlighted Notre Dame's four-run rally. Fred Sloan, Mark Connors and winning pitcher Pat Connors each had two hits for the victors.

Lynn Saternow and Mike Cidila both pitched for Pioneer Home Equity (0-1). Cidilia doubled twice.
