KNOCKOUT'S/CABALLO BAYO 9, INN 62/ELEPHANT & CASTLE 8

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP -- Knockout's catcher John Wise capped a three-run rally in the top of the seventh Wednesday night, helping Knockout's/Caballo Bayo slip past host Inn 62, 9-8.

Wise's two-out single scored Jay Ference. Ference tied the game moments earlier with a two-run single to left that scored Jared Terlecky and Seth Terlecky. Wise also roped a two-run double in the second, helping Knockout's grab a 5-2 lead.

Ference also doubled while Matt Sheets went 2 for 3. Seth Terlecky scored three times. Ryan Briggs earned the pitching victory by tossing a complete game. He did not issue a walk in seven innings.

For Inn 62, Nate Banick homered and singled while Todd Davis cracked three singles. Davis laced a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth to give Inn 62 an 8-6 lead. Also, Chad Fette singled and scored twice while Charles Gibbs added a pair of hits.

Gibbs started and pitched five innings for Inn 62/Elephant & Castle. Banick pitched the final two innings and took the defeat.
