CHICCARINO'S 7, DOUBLE D ENTERPRISES 3
SHENANGO TOWNSHIP -- Chiccarino's evened its overall record at 3-3 Tuesday night by pulling out a 7-3 victory over host Double D Enterprises at COG. Chiccarino's broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the fifth by scoring three unearned runs. Chiccarino's then added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth inning.
David Harries paced Chiccarino's by going 3 for 3 while Kevin Faber also collected three hits in four at-bats. Phil Ciprian doubled and singled and Darren Gensler went 2 for 3 with two runs scored. Pitcher Ryan Briggs picked up the win after allowing two earned runs and five hits over seven innings. He struck out two.
For Double D Enterprises, Josh Sponsler doubled, scored and knocked in a run. Cory Mattes also knocked in a run while Mike Mattes scored. Bob Mariotti and Lindsey Mizicko pitched with Mizicko taking the setback.
