CHICCARINO'S 17, NOTRE DAME 4
HERMITAGE -- Chiccarino's used a late surge Tuesday night to earn a 17-4 victory over host Notre Dame at St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Chiccarino's (2-1) broke open the game by scoring 10 runs over the final two innings after trailing 3-1 in the fourth inning.
Six Chiccarino's players posted multi-hit efforts in the win. Kevin Faber went 3 for 5 with a triple, three runs scored and three runs batted in while Adam Felton tripled, singled and knocked in three runs. Ben Mackall belted a two-run homer, his first round-tripper of the season.
Also for Chiccarino's, Randy McConnell and Kevin Persch both doubled and singled. Phil Ciprian and Darren Gensler both singled twice and Seth Terlecky doubled. Ryan Briggs earned the pitching win after allowing four runs and six hits in six innings. He struck out two. Dave Tomko pitched a scoreless seventh.
Mike Shacklock tripled as part of a 3-for-3 effort for Notre Dame while Jim Connors tripled, doubled and scored a pair of runs. Tyler Allen and Mike Porterfield both tripled. Mark Connors and Pat Connors, Sr. both pitched with Mark Connors taking the setback.
