MERCER BOWL 16, SHARON VFW 6

HERMITAGE -- Mercer Bowl pounded out 17 hits Sunday night en route to a 16-6 victory over Sharon VFW (8-1) at Patagonia Senior.

Dave Bodien and Craig Songer each had three hits, including a triple. Devin Corini doubled twice while Justin Songer tripled and singled. Jon Murray cracked three hits. Winning pitcher Jim Kopan fired a complete game for the Bowlers, who have won five in a row. Mercer Bowl broke the game open by scoring six runs in the top of the second and adding five more in the third.

Nate Banick homered for Sharon VFW while Jason Evakich and Pat Connors, Jr. both tripled. Evakich also singled. Corey Augustine doubled. Banick started while Harry Bowser worked in relief.
